Resolution Update: Week 5

This week I read Paul David Tripp's Quest for More.

It reminded me of John Piper's Don't Waste Your Life - one of my favorite books. It didn't seem fair to compare them. But, I couldn't help it. Piper's intensity and passion stirs me up. I know his writing and speaking style is often discouraging to some. If that is you, then I would recommend Quest for More to you. If you are a Piper fan, the second half of Quest for More offers some different views on how "living for something bigger than yourself" can be practically applied in your life.

Why did I read Quest for More? Because Dan and I were in the bookstore and he pointed to the book and said that Paul David Tripp would be speaking at Capital Hill Baptist sometime soon. I figured that I might as well read it, because I'd like to hear him speak if I was available. (His book Age of Opportunity is also one of my favorite books.)

I'm glad I started the book when I did. Because after a quick search, I found out that Tripp will be at Capital Hill Baptist this Saturday. Lord willing, I'm going. And I'm excited to hear him speak and spend some time with a few friends who will also be attending.

Thanks for posting these updates Michele. It helps to keep us all accountable and also is nice to hear what you're doing as well :)

I haven't read anything by Paul Tripp yet but have seen you mention him several times. I'll keep an eye out for this one and see if any of the local libraries have it yet.
