Amy Letinsky

I had the privilege and joy of meeting a new friend in Seattle, a fellow blogger: Amy Letinsky.

I've been getting to know her through her blog and then via email for a few months now, and when the opportunity came for me to travel to her home city, I knew I had to take it!

She openly shared an area that is challenging for her, and then challenged me in another area. It wouldn't be appropriate for me to be specific with either thing, but her challenge required me to push my thought process a bit more. I'm thankful that though she and I are separated by many miles and time zones, the love of Christ draws us together. (Amy, I'll be more specific in an email, once I get caught up on live in Baltimore!)

I hope to meet up with Amy again. Perhaps when I get my free airline pass from Southwest?!?

But, Amy, my friend, we have all eternity together.

As I reflect on my time with Amy, I am reminded of my friend Andrea, from Virginia. We met at a summer camp we volunteered at some 11 years ago. She is now married, with two precious little boys. I am reminded of my friend Stephanie, from West Virginia. We met at New Attitude in 2001. She is now married with three little boys and another baby on the way! I am reminded of my friend Jon, once from Florida, now in Philly. We met in 2005 on one of my many trips to Florida. I knew I would need some fellowship and thankfully, Sovereign Grace was represented in the town I was staying.

There are many more friends from different parts of the country. People that I don't get to see and enjoy as often as I would like. People, who though not a part of my local church, they are a part of the Church. Each time I am in the presence of these dear Saints, I am so quickly reminded of the vast expanse of the gospel. My focus quickly shifts off of the day to day "normal" church activities. My focus becomes more eternal. I love my church very much. How great it is to think that not only will I spend eternity with the saints I live my daily live with, but also the saints that I have been getting to know. And there are so many more alive and with our Lord that I have not yet met.

I'm excited to get to heaven to see my Savior and to spend eternity worshipping Him. But, I'm also excited to get to heaven and spend eternity worshipping my Savior with old friends, and new ones! (And we won't be frustrated by our schedules in trying to find a day or a weekend together!)
Picture was taken at the Seattle Public Library last Thursday -- an extremely cool building in and out. Check out the virtual tour of it here.

Hey ~M,

Thanks for picking a flattering picture! hehe. That was so much fun...and the library was certainly the highlight...although...coffee is always nice...then there's Vietnamese food. Ahhh, Seattle is a great place to spend the day with a friend.

You've got me scratching my head about which conversation you're referring to. We had the quite gabfest. It's so nice to spend time with another believer who loves Jesus and loves books. So, I'm eagerly anticipating that clarification e-mail. =)

Send me your pictures!
Mine turned out awful!
